Lovely stylization! I think it works.

Just one question though, are the snake's head and the girl in separate panels, or is the snake coming up behind her in one frame? At first glance I thought the former, but the more I look at it I see both.

hmm yeah the trick was to show both faces at the same time. I was going to put a diagonal slash between them, to make a split panel, but it seemed too distracting

I think that'd work pretty well. Or, instead of one line separating the two, enclose them into two separate but supplementary panels, and place the panels close to, but not touching, each other.
